Judgment Call

This week we'll see a standalone message by Andy Stanley called "My Summer Vacation" and then we start into a new series called "Judgment Call". Here is a description of the series:

Nobody wants to be judged. But as Christians, what should we do when it comes to judging others? Is there a right or wrong time? Should we mind our own business, or approach the subject with someone if we think they are heading in the wrong direction?

Sounds like a good series, eh?

Sunday Rewind

Wow - what a great Sunday! We wrapped up the message series "The Star, the Cross, and the Crescent" with a great message by Afshin Ziafat. Seth Condrey lead worship and did a phenomenal job as usual. The first song, "We Shine" was awesome and was synced up to a video that accented different words as they were being sung. It was also great to have our production trailer on campus at 6:00am instead of 7:30am like last week (due to a malfunction at the storage facility)!

This coming Sunday we'll be showing a stand-alone message called "My Summer Vacation" and then we start a new 4-part series entitled "Judgment Call". It's a challenging series that explores the whole "judge not" thing.

Thanks again, everyone, for all you do to make the production area at Watermarke something we can be proud of!

Sunday Rewind

Last Sunday was great with our very own Rachele Bruu leading worship. She always does such a great job of actually leading us in worship, not just "singing the songs". The second message in "The Star, the Cross, and the Crescent" was excellent. It was more like a history lesson than a "sermon" but somehow Andy Stanley managed to make it interesting. It really took guts for North Point to do this series and I'm looking forward to the next two messages.

Sunday Rewind

Yesterday was the first Sunday in the new series "The Star, the Cross, and the Crescent" which is about the origin of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Andy Stanley always does a great job of making historical stuff from the Old Testament relevant to us today.

The music went really well with "yours truly" running sound (although I've heard I might have had the volume up a bit too loud - oops..). We tried something that we haven't done before at Watermarke - used a "virtual guitar player". We had a hard time finding a second electric guitar player so we had our very own Brad Long prerecord the rhythm guitar parts. We set the recordings to a click track (that only the band could hear) so that they could play along. I thought it worked out really well and made everything sound nice and "full".

Our Production Team continues to do an amazing job with setup, teardown, and of course, the lighting, computer graphics, and lyrics. I'm grateful to be able to serve along side you guys - keep up the great work!

The Star, the Cross, and the Crescent

This Sunday, we being a new four-part message series called "The Star, the Cross, and the Crescent". This series explores the origins and teachings of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. How are they similar? Where do they differ? Aren't they all essentially saying the same thing? Why all the conflict?

Andy Stanley delivers the first two messages of the series followed by two different guest speakers for the final two messages.

Don't miss out on this exciting and challenging series!
